Breaking Bad says a lot about white male capitalist supremacy

First of all, this is fiction. Fiction is written by humans. Fiction is not necessarily coherent in any way, especially written as a TV serial, even if it was on classy AMC (or whatever).

Having said that . . . !

Gus Fring is an honorable man. Walter White THINKS he is an honorable man. But he succumbs to hubris. Jesse Pinkman is the working-class everyman who actually has a conscience and can see things clearly. However his innate, noble instincts are subverted by the system that has captured him, that ensconces him. Finally, the entire enterprise is captured by the actual white supremacists in the story, who have no class, no honor, no savvy, no brains, just greed. Life has no value at this point. The white male capitalist supremacist who started the whole story finally bites the bullet and it is Jesse Pinkman who escapes, we hope to something better.

Even Mike Ehrmentraut (sp?) who was honorable to the nth degree ended up being unceremoniously put down by a greedy, arrogant WASP who thought he knew everything. The connection between Mike and Jesse is meaningful because they both get it.

To be continued, maybe. . . .
