Star Wars

I’m watching Rogue One for the billionth time. I think it might arguably be the best of all of the Star Wars films. My rankings, however, are usually different from the mainstream’s.

For example, the people who think that Empire Strikes Back is a better movie than New Hope are play-by-the-numbers idiots who take their cues from movie critics and their parents. There are things to consider when judging these films and its necessary to enumerate them if you are going to do it justice.

There’s the acting. There’s also the heart, soulfulness. There’s novelty. There’s direction, cinematography, soundtrack. It’s a miracle that after all of the horrible things that have occurred in the Star Wars universe that Rogue One could manage to put together all of these things, especially the heart and soul. The *spirit* of Star Wars is more present in this film than in any other film aside from New Hope.

Thank you, Gareth Edwards!!!!!!

JFK Revisited: Through the Looking Glass – Wikipedia

I plan on streaming this and Django Unchained on hourback.tv ad nauseam when I finally get things going again.

Just the first 10 or 15 minutes of this film is enough to wake up the viewer. Every single person who casts a vote in this country should be forced to watch this and weigh in with an opinion. Unfortunately, simply viewing something doesn’t demonstrate the viewer’s capacity or will to accept it as discernible fact.

How do you feel living in a country where your government executes people who want to create a better society for everybody, and not just old, rich, white people? Are you foolish enough to think that this wouldn’t happen again today? It happened to Bernie Sanders. It happened to Julian Assange. It happened to Edward Snowden. People who tell the truth and want to improve things in this country are apparently considered to be expendable and a vulnerability, in fact.

And Barack Obama is probably the anti Kennedy. What a failure and complete corruption of a person he is and exemplifies. It’s all smiles and glimmer. No depth, no truth, no justice. What a fucking shame. I think we’re still waiting for our first black president.

Gladiator (2000)

If you utilize your ability to skip past vast amounts of useless exposition (at least) I think you’ll find Gladiator to be a reliable view this year.

It seems to be a timely piece, depicting principled individuals speaking truth to power, power both amoral, unethical, disjointed, disorganized, unreasonable, illogical, unenlightened, dishonorable, delusional, and corrupt . . . among other things.

But anyway! I do think this is a useful watch for getting your brain ready for what’s necessary in the next stage of our national/global development if we are to survive as a species. Watch closely, learn your lessons well, and practice in your own life.

The Rental – Wikipedia

The critical reception to this movie indicates that this culture no longer has the ability to properly assess what it perceives through its own eyeballs. This is one of the worst pieces of garbage I’ve ever watched.
