It’s disturbing how seemingly oblivious, ignorant, unknowledgeable, and powerless law enforcement seems to be when it comes to protecting anyone other than the power structure in place especially from thuggish, brutish, WASPy white boys such as these.
Praise Jesus et al. for people such as ProPublica.
The headline took the words right out of my mouth! 🙂
This really was an Illuminating documentary. Fortunately I got to see it in theater in Bethesda, Maryland, when it came out. I would highly recommended in any case but especially right now I think it would be extremely valuable given the political context of the fraudulent Supreme Court hearings we’re witnessing these days.
I was somewhat politically aware during this episode in American history but watching the documentary was so much more enlightening and I came away from it with both an extremely high amount of respect for Anita Hill and an extremely high amount of disgust and disappointment in our white-male-supremacist political leadership (including the now beloved-by-association Uncle Joe Biden) that continues to infect our politics. It’s time for us to finally rid our American body of this virus don’t you think?
A standout turn from the often under-utilized actor is one of the many joys of this carefully choreographed dinner party satire that acts as a cutting allegory of Trump’s America
I could not have put this any better myself I’m sure. So I’ll just post this as is. 🙂 I highly endorse the use of the word “savage” in the lede.
I hope you watch the movie and enjoy it!
I watched this movie at a time in my life when I could probably most feel it. I think it deserves to be linked with Movie Recommendation: The New Age in that context.
This movie has stuck in my brain for a looooooooong time. I’ve likely had dreams about it. It has picked at me off and on forever and I don’t completely understand why I am only now getting around to watching it again.
It seems like a very timely story and should be useful to people enduring America in the post-World War II fantasy we’ve propped up for ourselves to play in for a while until it’s time to grow up and get real. And by “real” I mean real ancient Greek civilization, because they knew what time it was. Then the idiot Christians (no offense, Jesus, because you were probably a cool guy yourself) kept pouring water on the Greeks until the entire Earth forgot everything important. But that’s another story!!!
