A Florida teen was charged with a misdemeanor for breaking a classmate’s nose and damaging his eye socket because he thought the boy was gay for having unusual hobbies. This is the height of delusion, ignorance, miseducation, and illogic. I started putting together an annotated response but I gave up. ๐Ÿ™‚๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜ญ

But then I remembered that we all have the power to make big decisions every day with what we do with our lives and our time and our energy and it does us no good to focus on these black holes of negativism among us. Let’s choose instead to imagine a better present for ourselves and make it happen in whatever way we can right this moment, because this moment is really all we have.

So what’s the best thing you can do right now?

Missing the point

It seems like to most Americans the only relevant question is which one of these sides is the winner, or should be the winner, or was the winner. In actuality that question is practically irrelevant. A more relevant question would be how did we end up like this? How did we come to accept a public forum where incongruities such as these are tolerated and allowed to exist at all?
