And it has taken how long to find this out??? And has anyone really learned from these lessons??? Then why do we continue to torture, and to mass-surveil?
Someone needs to stop the USA, Inc. Empire. It could be the citizens of the empire, the United Nations, other nation states, time, SOMETHING. Or just logical conclusions, which would be the suicide that we are slowly committing by our devotion to the fantasy of continual economic growth, infinite growth. What a fallacy. Stupid college kids. All of those MBAs.
Even the filthy rich will eventually get bored with this shit and decide to do something different. I hope it will happen before the decision is made for them and we are all destroyed.
But I have come to the same conclusions as Edward Snowden in pretty much everything he says in this interview. I agree wholeheartedly with his analysis of our current situation, our wannabe-democracy’s situation. I feel like he and I are brothers!!! I could very easily have been Edward Snowden. If I were in his position I hope and believe that I would have done what he did. Because it is right, and aimed at truth, and truth is our salvation.
I really, really wish that Tulsi, in that moment in time, had had the courage to disavow the Democratic Party and go rogue, go People’s Party. Maybe she will find the courage eventually!!! Or maybe someone else will. But that’s what needed to happen.
In this video, Jordan Peterson simply retorts, muddies the waters, and erases any inherent gravity of debate that would lead reasonable people to reasonable conclusions. Utter bullshit and obfuscation, rationalizing the indefensible.
Some notable tidbits that caught my attention included . . .
BUT, this all reminds me of Island, by Aldous Huxley, a phenomenal book and arguable guide for human life on Earth. Again, people read the books, or maybe they don’t anymore, that are on the reading list, but they don’t later apply the ideas that they read to their actual lives on Earth. If you aren’t going to apply those ideas to your activities and expectations of life on Earth then why bother reading the books? Just to check a box? People go through our educational system (again, this is a guess because I haven’t been there in a long time and I don’t study the state of the “art”) and fail to apply the meager wisdom and knowledge that intelligent and well-intentioned people managed to wedge into the curriculum and slide past the evangelical idiots who monitor such things. What a waste!!! It is a tragedy. This is how we have neoliberals. This is how we have half-assed voters who think there is a binary system that is bestowed upon us by some agnostic god, a system that we cannot escape from only because we have been trained to fail to imagine a better way forward. Because we have been seduced into thinking that things have been better before, or are great now, so don’t ruin it. But that is a fallacy. Things can get so much better. But you must imagine it first. You must consider it to be a feasible proposition to consider. Otherwise there is nothing but regression. And that’s what we are staring at now.
