My review of Joker, the movie

Joker is the Rogue One of the comic book movie universe. Somehow some soul slipped into Hollywood again. Thank you, all involved!!!

And the score was extremely tasteful!

I feel the movie landed punches squarely where they were aimed, deftly and powerfully. It expressed what I have been feeling for some time and obviously what many others have also been feeling, and it did it so beautifully. It was shot wonderfully. (I can’t wait to buy the Blu-ray.) The writing seemed perfect.

Underlining everything it seems is what has come up so often in my recent conversations: the utter lack of empathy on the part of our seemingly voluntarily emotionally stupid society. Everyone is so self-involved that they have abandoned their capacity for attempting to understand others. They’re so stupidly confident/confidently stupid that they don’t deign to lower themselves to having to, you know, relate to other human beings that are not in their immediate gene pool.

One of the important lessons: actions have consequences. ๐Ÿ™‚ Even the mighty American Empire can have its big toys go boom. The ultra-rich parasites can only feed off of everyone else for so long before bad things start happening that are out of anyone’s control, in which case everyone loses eventually, believe it or not.

Rotten Tomatoes remains a poorly-engineered contest.

I really like its concept and purpose but it is engineered by people who apparently don’t care much about feng shui.ย  It’s a disaster to navigate for those of us with high Web sensitivities.

This feels amazing!!! ๐Ÿ™‚ I am happily surprised that I have zero razor burn and my skin feels great. I will definitely do this again.

Thank you, Mike!! ๐Ÿ™‚๐Ÿ‘

Elysium: A Must-See Movie Before the USA Mid-Term Elections Scheduled for November 6, 2018

I haven’t even finished this movie and I had to start writing about it.ย  I strongly encourage you to watch this movie before the USA’s mid-term elections scheduled for November 6, 2018.ย  Watching Elysium will either . . .

  • Fire you up because you were going to vote anyway and this movie illustrates why you are so awesome for voting against the wicked Republican Party and their Jabba the Hutt stand-in, Donald Drumpf
  • Motivate you to vote because you see how awful things could be in just a few decades if things keep going as they are
  • Impress you with it’s fresh narrative without having to resort to rebooting or retelling or re-imagining or ripping off entirely or just being redundant

Sanders, Scott, director. Black Dynamite. Performance by Michael Jai White, 2009.

I love this movie about as much as I’ve loved any movie I can remember. ย ๐Ÿ™‚

It’s a spoof on blaxploitation films of the seventies (sixties?) and it’s fantastic, so sharp, and cut and performed so well. ย If you love Airplane you will probably love this. ย I was laughing a lot.

Good morning.

I’ve continued to experience significant technical issues with your app
over multiple versions and many months and have decided that it is no
longer justifiable to continue paying for your service. I request that you
give me a pro-rated refund at your earliest convenience.

I think your service is very good in many respects but unfortunately the
level of attention to detail in your Android app has always struck me as
being deficient compared to the state of the art particularly within this
category of application. I hope you will take this as constructive
criticism and use it to fill in the gaps of what could be a really stellar
application for Android.

Thanks for your time,

Interesting story. I’ve heard mixed reviews about their ethics and their editorial slant but I haven’t seen anything negative myself. I’ve found their reporting to be relevant, concise, and interesting.
