It’s unfortunate that the stupid left in the United States of America can’t rally around a common cause and do the same things that these right-wing extremists are doing very effectively. The left is divided and focused on its own navel-gazing, worrying about issues that affect fractions of society and small demographics instead of things like a working-class revolt. Smarten up, people. You’re having your ass handed to you left and right.

Blogging and social media strategy

Hey, folks!

Just sharing some ideas.

I’ve started to categorize my posts here that are purely opinion in their own section on the navigation, trying to keep them separate from items from elsewhere that I want to share.

Also I’m thinking of using my personal Facebook page to be where I share stuff that isn’t personal and keep mostly personal stuff on my timeline.

Do you guys do anything similar to this?

Blog publication strategies: telling you my methods and requesting your feedback

Introduction

I am extremely anti-spam. I’m extremely anti-noise. I loathe marketers and spammers and people who research ways to manipulate others (e.g. Frank Luntz).

Da goods

Having said that I am now trying to figure out how to publish my writings here and then advertise <shiver> them in a way that conforms to my ethics.

My current approach is to . . .

  1. Write something on here
  2. Use Buffer to schedule it on my personal Twitter account and my personal Google Plus account
  3. Manually post it to Facebook
  4. ???

About the permanence of a post

My my current thinking is that each of my posts is evergreen, a living document. I probably won’t change its slug because I believe in retaining origin whenever possible, I think, but the content might very well change at any moment.

What I want from you

Do you have any tips? How do you blog? How do you promote or advertise your writing in a way that does not beat people over the head or become merely more marketing noise?
