It remains inappropriate to refer to a computer on a desk as anything other than a PC, which is “personal computer”.  That does not refer to a particular brand or microchip architecture.  If you mean to refer to a specific operating system, such as Windows, Mac OS, etc., then say that instead so people who think will understand what you are trying to say.
